Saturday, November 2, 2019 – 7:00 pm All Saints’ Anglican Cathedral, 10035 – 103 Street Download program Da Camera’s first program in the 2019-2020 season marks a turning point in the life of the choir in this final program with Dr. John Brough, who has led the artistic vision of the choir since 2005. Da Camera Singers, with Orchestra Borealis, will present Mozart’s beloved Requiem mass with Dr. Brough alongside the Alberta premiere of Canadian composer Stephanie Martin’s new cantata, Winter Nights with Da Camera’s new artistic director, Laura Hawley. These two stunning works, with additional selections by J. Ch. Bach, Michael Merrill, and Bernat Vivancos, offer a thoughtful and moving All Soul’s Day program celebrating these past fourteen years of Dr. Brough’s inspiring leadership and ushering in the next chapter of Da Camera’s musical journey. |

INSIDE
Sunday, March 1, 2020 – 3:00 pm Holy Trinity Anglican Church Download program What do we feel inside in our innermost hearts? How do those feelings stir within us and resonate in our souls? This program comprises a choral dissertation on looking inward; exploring aspects of spirituality, emotional landscapes, nostalgia, and how we think of meaning in our lives. Featuring Frank Martin’s transcendent Mass for double choir with works by Winnipeg-born composer Andrew Balfour of Cree descent, Swedish composer Ann-Sofi Söderqvist, the Alberta premiere of Canadian composer Matthew Larkin’s Songs of love and loss, and other compelling choral gems, listeners are invited to take with us journey into the private, vibrant spaces of the heart and mind in this intimate soundscape mosaic. |

Sunday, May 3, 2020 – 3:00 pm Holy Trinity Anglican Church Following the March program, INSIDE, this concert celebrates all things outside! With works inspired by nature, spring time, love of homeland, and “outside voices,” this bright, energetic program features In Song: a multi-movement work for choir, piano, vibraphone, bass clarinet, and viola composed in 2017 by our artistic director, Laura Hawley! Contrasting this will be Hindemith’s wonderful Six Chansons as well as works by Persian-American composer Daniel Reza Sabsghabaei, Canadian composers Imant Raminsh, Jeff Enns, and Violet Archer, and others. |
