John Brough, Da Camera Singers new Artistic Director, takes the podium for his first concert as Da Camera Singers presents our musical centre piece, RVW’s Fantasia on Christmas Carols, along with music by Schubert, Poulenc and Canadian composers Willan, Bevan, Macdonnell and Sirett. John invites you to join us in singing some festive carols, and become, for one evening, a member of Da Camera.

De Profundis is a celebration of the 250th birthday of Mozart, and two composers who greatly influenced the prodigy: Pergolesi and Michael Haydn. Featured works include Pergolesi’s Salve Regina and Mozart’s Mass in D Minor, as well as both beloved and lesser-known motets by the young prodigy.

Sometimes dark, sometimes uplifting and hopeful, Da Camera Singers presents a concert of a cappella choral music on the topics of death and rebirth. Bach’s motet Ich lasse dich nicht, Samuel Barber’s Reincarnations and Brahms’ Funf Gesange, Op. 104 are among the featured works, as well as music by Canadian composer Frances Macdonnell.
