Saturday, November 8, 2008 — 8:00 p.m. First Baptist Church — 10031 109 Street NW Da Camera Singers is joined by the Edmonton Youth Choir, under the direction of John Wiebe, for an evening of music celebrating the spirit of song in a variety of musical periods and styles. Thursday, May 14, 2009 – 8:00 pm All Saints' Anglican Cathedral — 10035 103 Street NW The title work of this concert. is abeautiful collection of the poetry of Val Brandt set to music by Edmonton composer John Estacio. Da Camera Singers pairs this touching work with audience-favourite “Requiem,” by Eleanor Daley, and a commissioned work by Ontario composer, Leonard Enns. CANTUS MISSAE
Saturday, May 23, 2009 – 8:00 pm First Baptist Church — 10031 109 Street NW Rheinberger’s monumental mass setting in E Flat for Double Choir, known as the Cantus Missae, is presented along with other German works, both sacred and secular. Brahms and Hugo Wolf will also make appearances at this program, including selections of lighthearted and tuneful part-songs to welcome in the spring, accompanied by Da Camera’s long time resident pianist, Loretta Dueck.
